what is differnce between v6 engine and six cylinder engine like ford has?
like holden has v6 3.6L engine & ford has 4L six cylinder engine

- The V6 distributes 3 cylinders side by side. Ford has a in line 6 cylinder engine. All 6 pistons are in a straight line. The in line engine distributes more torque than the V6 engine. Towing a boat would be easier w/the in line and going fast would be better w/the v6.
- A V6 engine is shaped like a V. It's shorter than an in-line 6 cylinder engine because it has two rows of three cylinders.
- V6 is a kind of 6 cylinder engine. That is when the cylinders are arranged in a V shape. 3.6 Liters is the size of the engine. So the 4.0 Liter engine is bigger. And they engines make different power. The Holden engine is probably stronger.
