What makes the 2005 Ford Ranger V6 Engine so noisy?
Dealers say this normal and is contained in all the models of 2005. The engine has a rumbling sound only when driving. It is very quite when Idling. Am I being mislead by the dealers?

- there's little insulation....no padding in doors or firewall. It's a tin can with a great engine. It's all about being a simple but decent performance truck any laborer could be proud to own.
- It's a FORD and they are FORD dealers. Mislead? Nah.
- the exaust or horse power or the crappy manafolds
- Crummy engine design. Sorry, but you should have bought a Nissan or Toyota.
- Forget those other answers.. its the Main Bearings on the motor mount.. the engine vibrates as it runs..and the motor mounts are to small of the new ranger pick ups... try having a lift kit put in it and then have your old bearings replaced with newer ones of a slightly bigger size..maybe 1/16th of an inch bigger
